Nowadays TV advertisements are getting increasingly horrible and disgusting... I mean why advertise when you're effectively ruining the brand image you have, or simply creating a lousy brand image right in the first place? No doubt nowadays advertising regulations has become less stringent... allowing more LC advertisements to be screened... but it's really an eyesore!
First one: MEGA-MATRESS - This particular company has been making a few series of advertisements liao. First it starts off with the newly wedded couple, with the wife complaining to the husband that their "DI LAM" is damn hard... then reccommended megamatress... Then the next episode they have a son that comes into the picture (this one still okay). The most recent one features the same man, having like 7 wives??? Harlo he think he's the Duke of Mount Deer ah??? 7 wives... then all dressed up like they just participated the finals of a beauty contest... then the man intends to buy a bed for each, Mon-Sat sleep with each 1, then Sun is his off-day. Harlo come on lah what crap is this! This is so intellectually disgraceful... such a disgrace to the brand... yucks!
Second one: Slim-fit - This 1 is a visual eyesore. It's about breast-enhancement treatment basically. Saw it about few years ago, now it's back... Basically features a scantily-dressed, half-the-boobs-revealing, middle age woman sashaying on the streets to fetch her children home from school. Man see her bang pole, woman see her look at their own boobs and start shaking their heads in dismay... worst thing is the point that u see her 2 children running towards her and into her arms... all focus is on her boobs... HARLO... what has boobs gotta do with family blissfulness??? I mean pardon me... this is really a freaking shallow advertisements. Let us try to visualise if that woman has been a more pretty woman... okay... it still doesn't work - the entire ad concept is CRAP! I just can't stand this kind of cheap advertisements... it just makes me want to puke...
Maybe one thing good is... it gives me an opportunity to get out of my studies and complain about it in my blog...
