2 busy day are finally over, leaving me with only 10 days for mugging (quite fortunate liao, NTU gals have only 3 days...)
NYJC Concert was well-done I feel, even though during the practices and rehearsal I think we sounded like crap, but somehow the performance was a total 180 degree turnaround... I'm glad we disappoint no one =) Asadoya was still flat in the end... but at least the entire chord is still there, the entire choir went flat together. Alleluja was still fresh and exciting to audiences. Nv asked around from much comments, but heard from Thom that he loves Alleluja... just keeps going higher... and that our sops are powerful... LOL... Lye commented that there's a big difference, generally the comments are very encouraging =)
Went to celebrate Thom's birthday right after the concert, had the craziest intention to spend the night out but sane Leo advised us to go home to rest liao. Leo was driving us around in his dad's lorry. We had 2 more ppl in the group today! Felicia and Bishan! Too bad our alto a little shy... haha! Had fun chatting till about 1 plus at TPY Mac, especially the point when Thom and Lye progressively revealed each other's secrets to spite each other, me and Leo secret agenda! LOL... Best point is Thom's popular phrase: "Wo bu xi huan nu shen!"... The whole table was so shocked! Well he actually meant that he doesn't like a PARTICULAR ger... super farni mistake... haha!
Next day work up after 4 snooze of my hp alarm clock... lol... went to bath, switch on hp, 8 MISSED CALLS!?!?! wah suddenly sheena so popular? Turns out that it was all from 1 person: EK NGEE... lol!! keep redialing my number upon simin's request until he's certain i've woke up... thereafter met ek, simin, shanyu for lunch b4 going to VCH. Kel asked to join us at 12. Called leo about 10 plus, first time heard him whining on the phone... don't want to wake up... so farni!
The day PJ's concert, it was not as well-prepared as NYJC's concert coz there was no combined full-dress rehearsal b4 that... had major logistical faults on during the performance itself, but our head of stage managers, De Qiang had fast and the best-possible remedy for the situations. Thanks to him the day was saved! WE's standard was more or less maintained for the day, apparently we were the least-worrying for Miss Ong that day, and thankfully we didn't disappoint her =)
One of the most entertaining part of the day, Leo sporting enough to wear ladies heels! LOL! Didn't realised that he and Zally had smaller hands and feet. I'm still waiting for the photos of Leo trying on heels and attempting to walk! Another best part of the day: Timothy telling us about Nelson Kwei's comments for this concert. OMG! We didn't knew that he was even here! He was actually sitting on the lvl 2 circle seat few rows in front of the control room listening to us! That very position is actually were SYF judges will normally sit one. According to Tim, normally he prefers to give criticism (constuctive ones lah), but this time, he actually told Tim that we were not bad =) We sound... dun know what's the exact word he used, but it basically means that our singers are individually quite strong, and together we sound blended. There might even be a possibility of performing with one of Nelson's choir this coming december... omg... this is so exciting!
After the concert, we took some act sei photographs! Thereafter went for supper at Lau Pa Sat, with Zally, Shi Hui, Shanyu, Ek, Simin, Jian Zhong and Xin Kai. Supposed to have more ppl joining us one, but then in order to avoid missing the last train, we had to split into few groups, not sure where the other groups went though, maybe city hall? The owners of Wild Empire had the great mission of digging out info from Nelson Kwei during supper with him, so couldn't join us for satay! Hope they get lots of comments from him and even explore the possibility of combined concert!
Out of these 2 days... what are my fav songs? I supposed it's Alleluja! Very exciting... only thing I'm not satisfied is that we haven't make the audience's hair stand during the slow part of the song... yeap. Next fav song... Sit Down, You're Rockin the Boat! Quite fun song =D Too bad I can't hit a high C nicely, so I shall continue to *wink wink* at Shanyu and LeoLeo =P
I'm so looking forward to the video-recordings and sound-recordings of our concert!
Look at me again... harlo exams in 10 days!!! It's time to think about my exams!!!
